Ice cream they say is best enjoyed one flavor at a time. The new Buick Envision is sort of like ice cream in that way. The 2022 Buick Envision comes in three flavors: Preferred, Essence and Avenir. These flavors, otherwise known as trim levels, offer you choices to be reckoned with depending upon your expectations and budget. Regardless of your selection you will be driving the kind of safe, quiet riding, comfortable vehicle that Buick is famous for, and owners expect.
Powertrain options are simplified for 2022 in that all trims are powered by a 2.0L turbocharged engine coupled with a 9-speed automatic transmission and overdrive. This new Envision for 2022 is a crossover and it will bring a smile to your face the instant you start to accelerate. At this point you will appreciate Buick’s mastery of both horsepower and torque. The evidence will be indisputable and rewarding.
Which brings us to handling and the 2022 Buick Envision comes standard with StabiliTrak, electronic stability control system with traction control. This means that if some devilish aspect of the road pokes its head into your lane and your enthusiastic driving gets cut short by a river of red taillights, Stabilitrack helps keep you in control.
As Shakespeare’s King John said, “To gild refined gold, to paint the lily…Is wasteful and ridiculous excess.” Which is probably why the 2022 Buick Envision just received a few tweaks this year. The already lyrical design does not need major alterations.
The Sport Touring package on Preferred and Essence models now includes alloy pedal covers, plus headrests and floormats with embroidered “ST” logos. Essence models equipped with the Sport Touring package also receive contrasting red stitching for the seats. Sapphire Metallic is a new optional exterior color this year.
2022 Buick Envision offers all the connectivity you need. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration—both with wireless connectivity—are standard across the range. Buick Envision provides a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot as standard equipment, too, along with SiriusXM satellite radio, a six-speaker stereo, and an active noise-cancellation system. Buyers of the Essence trim receive a seven-speaker stereo but can upgrade to a nine-speaker Bose setup by selecting the Technology package, which also adds in-dash navigation; both of those features are standard on the 2022 Envision with Avenir trim.
